FAQ's
Q. Can I bring my pet (cat or dog) on holiday with me?
A. If the cottage details state they are pet friendly the owners will accept one well-behaved dog and some will consider more. If you wish to bring a cat some of the cottages will except them but do ring the office to check. Some of the cottages will have an additional charge for bringing pets (this will be in the cottage details). Pets should not be allowed on the furniture and in some properties only limited to certain rooms and must not be left unattended in your holiday home. Gardens should be left free of pet excrement.
Q. At what time should I arrive at my cottage and when should I leave?
A. The standard time of arrival is 4pm, leaving by 10am on the day of departure. This allows for cleaning of the property between holiday lets. Please read carefully the details sent to you on full payment of the holiday as these details are included along with directions and key details.
Q. Can I book on-line?
A. Yes, you can check availability of a property and book on-line at www.kettcountrycottages.co.uk If you are looking for a short break please call the office on 01328 856853 to check availability. Short breaks are only available out of the peak periods.
Q. Are linen and towels provided?
A. Most of the cottages will provide linen but not all provide towels. This can be checked on the property details.
Q. What is a security deposit?
A. A security deposit is taken on some of the cottages at the time that the balance payment is made as a guarantee against breakages or damages and that the property, its contents and the garden are left in the same clean and tidy condition as at the commencement of the stay. It will be refunded within a week of your departure.
Q. What method of payment do you accept?
A. We accept cheque, debit or credit cards (2.5% charge for credit cards).
Q. What if I need to cancel my holiday?
A. You should telephone us immediately and then in writing if you have to cancel your holiday. As your holiday booking is a legal binding contract, you should therefore protect yourself against events beyond your control that may lead to you cancelling/curtailing your holiday. All reservation deposits paid to KCC are non-returnable and the hirer will be liable for the full cost of the holiday if a cancellation or alteration occurs UNLESS the booking office is notified as follows: a. Up to 8 weeks before the start of the holiday. In which case the hirer will forfeit the deposit only. B. Less than 8 weeks before the start of the holiday and it is possible for KCC to re-let the property. In which case the deposit will be forfeited plus an administration charge of £25 plus VAT. The balance will be returned to the hirer. If the property is not re-let the hirer will forfeit the full cost of the holiday.
