Norfolk Broads Cottages

The Norfolk Broads, the network of seven navigable rivers in the Norfolk region, stretch over 200 kilometres and are steeped in history. The area receives over 2 million visitors every year, most of which explore the luscious terrain and waterways via motor boat, sail boat or canoe, or by hiking, walking or cycling through villages of converted barns, medieval churches, windmills and gardens. The Broads are also popular fishing destinations, as much of its use is free with a permit.

Kett Country Cottages have a number of cottages along the Broads, where guests can enjoy the waterways with the ease of simply walking out their front, or back, doors. In Frettenham, the timber-built Heron Lodge is situated on 20 acres of open grounds with onsite fishing in close proximity of the Broads. Guests can rent a boat to fish for some of the local catch, like perch, carp, rudd, roach, bream and tench. The Grebe Lodge is also close-in from the Broads and perfect for families looking to spend the day either on the sea or walking through the marshes and brushes to take in the vast species of birds, such as buzzards, hobbys and sparrowhawks. To keep the kids busy, there are also a number family parks and railways nearby, as well as lush, sleepy riverbanks that are great for peaceful, romantic afternoon picnics.
