Pensthorpe Floodlit Feeds
Pensthorpe
.jpg)
One of Norfolk's most atmospheric and serene seasonal experiences is soon to return for winter, when Pensthorpe Nature Reserve near Fakenham launches its daily Floodlit Feeds from Saturday 22nd October 2011.
At 4pm daily, join the Pensthorpe Wardens as they entice the birds from across the Reserve to fly in at dusk for feeding.
Watch a variety of wildfowl including Teal, Gadwall and Wigeon as well as geese and swans swoop in over the water to be fed. Hear an informed talk about Pensthorpe and find out more about the wild birds who fly in to join those who call Pensthorpe home all year round.
See the line of brilliant white Ross's Snow Geese come to feed, the Red-breasted geese around the wardens feet waiting for a nibble or the bright blue bill of the Puna Teal dabbling at the water's edge.
Visitors can look on from the comfort of the indoor viewing gallery - peer out over the Mill Pond where, right in front of you, the feeding takes place and see all the different birds in their breeding plumage at this magical spectacle.
From 1st January 2012 onwards, the daily feeds move to 3pm.
If you're visiting Pensthorpe Nature Reserve, the cost of the Floodlit Feed is included in the Admission Price. For those who just want to attend the Floodlit Feed, the cost is £3.

Walsingham Abbey Snowdrop Walks
Walsingham

The grounds of Walsingham Abbey are famous for the spectacular ruins of the mediaeval priory and place of pilgrimage. During February they are also famous for an unrivalled display of massed snowdrops. Enjoy a peaceful walk around the grounds where the floors of the woodland dell are carpeted with glorious snowdrops. Stout footwear is recommended as the paths can be soft and muddy at this time of year, but it is well worth the effort. Dogs are welcome but need to be kept on a lead at all times.
Hours: 10am-4pm Admission: £4.00

King’s Lynn Literature Festivals
Town Hall, Kings Lynn
The King's Lynn Literature Festivals are held during a single weekend in March (Fiction) and September (Poetry) each year. Our guiding principle, initiated by King's Lynn's finest, Tony Ellis and co-founder, the late George MacBeth, is to present some of the best contemporary writers in a congenial and informal setting.
You will see writers of international repute alongside new writers, from all age ranges and from locations across the world. Meet the authors, hear them reading and buy their books.
These festivals have been running in an unbroken annual series since 1984.
Follow @lynnlitfests on twitter for occasional communiqués, lures and jollies.

New local produce market in Fulmodeston
Old School Hall, Fulmodeston
On the 3rd Saturday of the month, a new market is to be held at the Old School Hall in the picturesque North Norfolk village of Fulmodeston.
There is no need to travel to your nearest supermarket when exceptional producers, like our stall holders, are giving you the opportunity to buy on your door step.
Shopping at a produce market gives people the opportunity to meet their local producers and to purchase quality, local food at incredibly fair prices. Ask questions and learn about the food you are consuming. We think you will agree with our slogan: "Food tastes better when you know its source".
With stalls both indoors and outside and light refreshments provided, shopping doesn't get more exciting than this!
