Pensthorpe Floodlit Feeds

Pensthorpe Floodlit Feeds

One of Norfolk's most atmospheric and serene seasonal experiences is soon to return for winter, when Pensthorpe Nature Reserve near Fakenham launches its daily Floodlit Feeds from Saturday 22nd October 2011.

At 4pm daily, join the Pensthorpe Wardens as they entice the birds from across the Reserve to fly in at dusk for feeding.

Watch a variety of wildfowl including Teal, Gadwall and Wigeon as well as geese and swans swoop in over the water to be fed. Hear an informed talk about Pensthorpe and find out more about the wild birds who fly in to join those who call Pensthorpe home all year round.

See the line of brilliant white Ross's Snow Geese come to feed, the Red-breasted geese around the wardens feet waiting for a nibble or the bright blue bill of the Puna Teal dabbling at the water's edge.

Visitors can look on from the comfort of the indoor viewing gallery - peer out over the Mill Pond where, right in front of you, the feeding takes place and see all the different birds in their breeding plumage at this magical spectacle.

From 1st January 2012 onwards, the daily feeds move to 3pm.

If you're visiting Pensthorpe Nature Reserve, the cost of the Floodlit Feed is included in the Admission Price. For those who just want to attend the Floodlit Feed, the cost is £3.
