North West Norfolk has a wealth of variety for those wishing to enjoy all that a holiday on the coast can offer. The main coastal towns of Hunstanton and Wells-next-the-Sea are all close by from where you can sail, birdwatch, swim, take boat trips, play golf, ride horses or just relax on the beaches. Smaller villages including Sedgeford, Burnham Market, Brancaster, Thornham, Titchwell, Burnham Overy Staithe, Holkham and Holme next the Sea allow you to experience the award winning restaurants, country pubs, galleries and the many farm shops selling local and seasonal produce. Sandringham is easily accessible as are the other stately homes of Houghton Hall and Holkham.
Sleeps 5 Flint Cottage is a 400 year old brick and flint traditional cottage set in large secluded gardens in the village of Great Bircham. The village has a shop, a post office and a good pub/hotel only 200 yards from the cottage. There is also the famous working Bircham Mill. Great Bircham is ideally situated in North West Norfolk, close to Burnham Market, and Sandringham and only seven miles from the coast. The cottage is an ideal base for birdwatching , close as it is to the RSPB reserves of Titchwell and Snettisham. The Norfolk Lavender fields are also close by at Heacham. The Cottage is cosy with it's wood-burning stove, but at the same time spacious. It has beautifully kept garden to front and rear with wonderful views over the fields to the back.
Entrance is into the modern kitchen with a dining area. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, a freezer, dishwasher, electric hob and oven, and a microwave. French doors open out onto the rear garden terrace from the dining area. The utility room off the kitchen has a washing machine and a hand basin. Off this room is a shower room with a w.c. and basin. The beamed sitting room is reached through the kitchen where there is plenty of comfortable seating around the inglenook fireplace, with it's wood-burner and TV and DVD. There are windows to front and rear making the room very light and both have lovely views. A small sun room leads off from the sitting room which has a door opening onto the front garden. An ideal spot to enjoy breakfast on a sunny morning. Off the sun room is a small single bedroom with shelves and a built in wardrobe.
Open stairs lead from the sitting room to the first floor. Here there are 2 bedroom, 1 twin with an interesting fireplace feature and a double with a chest of drawers and fitted wardrobes. A cot and highchair are available. The bathroom has a shower over with a w.c. and basin. Outside the gardens are laid to lawn with shrubs. There is a terrace area near the house and a raised deck area where you can sit and enjoy the views over the fields. The driveway will accommodate 2/3 cars off road.
