The Old Coach House, a former pub now serves home cooked pizzasand is ideal for families with young children. The former smugglers hideaway, The Old Lifeboat near to the Creek at Thornham is also very popular these days and not as secret a place as it used to be. The beach at Thornham can be reached on foot by following the sea wall and crossing the dunes. The beach is sandy here and you could walk East or West for miles if you wished. For bird watchers, the nearby Titchwell Marsh nature reserve is on the doorstep. A short drive away is the nature reserve at Snettisham, featured on BBC's Autumn watch. Alternatively you may wish to visit the many stately homes and gardens in the area including Sandringham, Houghton, Holkham and Castle rising. For more traditional seaside entertainment Hunstanton is just along the coast with fun fair and arcades, the Sea Life Centre and swimming pool.
North West Norfolk has a wealth of variety for those wishing to enjoy all that a holiday on the coast can offer. The main coastal towns of Hunstanton and Wells-next-the-Sea are close by from where you can sail, birdwatch, swim, take boat trips, play golf, ride horses or just relax on the beaches. Smaller villages including Sedgeford, Burnham Market, Brancaster, Titchwell, Burnham Overy Staithe, Holkham and Holme next the Sea allow you to experience the award winning restaurants, country pubs, galleries and the many farm shops selling local and seasonal produce.
