Brancaster Staithe has a harbour, sailing club and two great pubs – The White Horse and The Jolly Sailors. Life here centres on the harbour and its thriving sailing and fishing community and the area is renowned for its delicious mussels – a speciality here.
There is much to do and see in this part of the county, with beautiful beaches, Scolt Head Island where the seals make their home, salt marshes and bird life. The coastal path which runs for forty seven miles along the North Norfolk coast can be picked up here so you can easily walk to and from as many (or as few!) villages as you like. Many people choose this area to come and photograph or paint and there are many exhibitions and courses based here throughout the year.
