Blakeney

Nestled between Morston and Cley, Blakeney is a stunning area of Norfolk and one of the largest expanses of unspoilt coastline in Europe.

Once a busy working port, Blakeney Quay is now mainly used for sailing and seal trips to Blakeney Point, a wildlife haven. There are many boat trips to this three mile shingle spit - a magical place to visit for keen birdwatchers. Morston Quay and Stiffkey salt marshes are nearby. Kett Country Cottages have various holiday properties in the area to suit everyone, from a romantic weekend to family holiday.

You could try golf, sailing, a walking the coastal path, shopping in the Georgian town of Holt or a cultural trip to one of Norfolk’s stately homes – Felbrigg, Blickling, Houghton or Holkham?

Blakeney has great pubs, cafes, a delicatessen, fish shop and small supermarket, catering for all your needs. Why not walk up to St. Nicholas Church? Inside this landmark there is a turret where a beacon would burn to guide ships safely into Blakeney Harbour. The church tower is one of the highest in Norfolk and you can climb to the top and take in the amazing view.

A path from the village leads out over the marshes towards the sea to Cley. passing through the village of Wiveton, where a trip to the Wiveton Café is a must for a delicious cake, a homemade meal using fresh, locally sourced produce, or even PYO fruit.

Whatever you need from your trip to Norfolk, Kett Country Cottages can make your stay here one you will never forget.
