This traditional Norfolk Brick, flint and "chalk lump" built cottage is situated in the pretty village of Thornham on the North West Norfolk coast and dates from the 19th century. Calendar Cottage is situated overlooking the village green and the church. The village is close to beaches and the famous Titchwell bird reserve. There are three good pubs and restaurants in the village and a shop also. This attractive property has the added advantage of a heated indoor swimming pool and a (pay as you go) sauna, making it an ideal family holiday home all year round.
Ground Floor
Dining room: A sunny sitting area overlooks a table seating 10. There is a feature fireplace and the kitchen leading through.
Kitchen: A large fitted kitchen with built in pine cupboards and a dresser shelf. Equipment includes: fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, electric cooker with extractor.
Sitting room: a good sized sunny room with a beamed ceiling. It has a bay window, a large feature fireplace with a wood burning/solid fuel stove and plenty of comfortable seating. The TV also has a DVD player and a video.
Bedroom 1: A large twin room.
W.C 1: With hand basin.
First Floor
Bedroom 2: A twin room with wardrobe and drawers.
Bedroom 3: A twin room with an en-suite shower with w.c. and overlooks the garden.
Bedroom 4: A double room which looks from the front of the house. It has pine cupboards and drawers and has a wash basin in the bedroom and an en-suite shower room but no w.c.
Bedroom 5: A double room with four poster bed with drapes, pine drawers and cupboards and a wash basin.
Bathroom 3: The family bathroom has a bath, w.c. and hand basin but no shower and an airing cupboard.
Outside
The indoor heated swimming pool is housed to the rear of the house and accessed from outside. The pool is approximately 12 x 7 metres. There are two changing rooms with showers and w.c.'s. A 'pay-as-you-use' sauna for guests is in the pool house.
The garden is fully enclosed and is laid to lawns and shrubs with a paved patio area and garden furniture.
Parking for at least 3 cars off road .
The house is double glazed throughout and Oil central heating is included.
Please remember to bring plenty of towels for swimming and sauna.
From 2011 the winter prices have been reduced to exclude use of the pool. The pool may be used by prior arangement at a charge of £200 per booking.

Thornham
Thornham is a pretty village and the perfect base to enjoy all that the North Norfolk coast has to offer. It has a stunning beach and is also close to the beaches at Brancaster, Holme and just a mile from the Titchwell Marsh RSPB reserve. Houghton Hall and Sandringham are both a 15 minute drive. There is a pretty church in the village, in which hangs the ship’s bell of the HMS Thornham which was named after the village. There is a village shop, deli, two popular pubs and a pizza restaurant all within walking distance. A short drive along the coast will take you to Drove Orchards farm shop for good quality local produce and delicious homemade apple juice and the amazing Yurt restaurant, serving good food in an unusual and cosy environment.
