When you arrive at 2 Coastguard Cottage in Thornham, you will immediately know that you will be spending your holiday in one of the special parts of the North Norfolk coast. From the kitchen and the sitting room downstairs the views are spectacular. You can you sit and watch the remarkable birdlife and the sea coming and going up and down the marsh. There is a feeling of remoteness and being on the edge of the country that make it special. Having said that, there is a very good village shop, two very popular pubs and a pizza restaurant all in the village and just a short distance from the house.
Ground Floor
Sitting room 1: A large room with an open fire, lots of comfortable seating, a TV and video.
Sitting room 2: A second sitting room, with open fire and wonderful views over the garden.
Kitchen/Dining room: A large and comfortable room with: huge fridge, freezer, 2 oven Aga cooker, electric oven and hob, microwave. The large table will seat 10 easily. A high chair is available.
Utility room: With a washing machine and dryer.
Shower: A nicely decorated downstairs loo with a large walk in shower. This can be accessed by the back door – perfect for washing off sand and salt after a day at the beach!
First floor
Bedroom 1: Twin room.
Bedroom 2: Twin room.
Bedroom 3: A large and lovely master bedroom with double bed.
Bedroom 4: A single room.
Bedroom 5: A room with a set of bunk beds and an additional slightly smaller single bed.
Bathrooms 2 & 3: There are two bathrooms one of which also has a separate shower.
Outside
A large lawned garden with trees, shrubs and extensive views over the marsh to the sea. A patio area has a large garden table with chairs and a barbeque is available. A small front garden is fenced. To the side of the house is an enclosed terrace with table and chairs, a sheltered sun trap.

Thornham
Thornham is a pretty village and the perfect base to enjoy all that the North Norfolk coast has to offer. It has a stunning beach and is also close to the beaches at Brancaster, Holme and just a mile from the Titchwell Marsh RSPB reserve. Houghton Hall and Sandringham are both a 15 minute drive. There is a pretty church in the village, in which hangs the ship’s bell of the HMS Thornham which was named after the village. There is a village shop, deli, two popular pubs and a pizza restaurant all within walking distance. A short drive along the coast will take you to Drove Orchards farm shop for good quality local produce and delicious homemade apple juice and the amazing Yurt restaurant, serving good food in an unusual and cosy environment.
