Orwell House is a large Georgian property situated near the centre of Fakenham and in the heart of North Norfolk. The Owner of the house has furnished it to a maintain a small country house feel and it has been used by the family for many years and so is very well equipped and particular care has been taken to create a very welcoming atmosphere. Fakenham is a bustling market town with many restaurants and pubs and a racecourse (which can be seen from the top floor). It is an excellent place from which to explore Norfolk with Sandringham, Houghton Hall, Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall and the Thursford Collection - home to the Christmas Spectacular - all nearby. The beautiful coastline is only 15 minutes in the car. The Pensthorpe Nature Reserve is just outside the town.
Ground Floor
Entrance: Into a large hallway.
Sitting room: Comfortable room with seating for 7 with a TV with freeview and a Video.
Dining Room: The dining area has a large table which will seat 11 and a very effective electric heater, a feature fireplace and a hatch through to the kitchen.
Kitchen: Large room has a large kitchen table and chairs and is equipped with: gas oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine. N.B: The rayburn cooker in the kitchen is not in use.
Cellar: Accessed through a trap door in the kitchen with a low ceiling, has a dart board, small snooker tabe and table football. Ideal for children but probably a bit cramped for adults.
First floor
Bedroom 1: Triple room with 3 single beds.
Bedroom 2: Large twin room.
Bathroom 1: Family bathroom with a new shower over the bath, basin and wc.
Second floor
Sitting room: With a TV.
Bedroom 3: Double bedroom.
Bathroom 2: With a handheld shower over the bath, basin and wc.
In addition there are 2 Z beds which could be put in either the top TV room or in the large twin room (linen is not provided for the Z beds).
Outside
A completely secluded enclosed grassed garden and a separate terrace with garden furniture. Access to this area is through 2 sets of 6 foot gates providing security and containment if required for young children and dogs.
Parking for 3 cars at the front of the house.
Gas fired central heating and hot water included.

Fakenham
Whilst there is plenty to see in Fakenham,this pretty market town is also the perfect spot for exploring the rest of North Norfolk. Kett Country Cottages have two lovely holiday cottages in Fakenham.
Holiday Cottages in North Norfolk range in size and style and many have features such as enclosed gardens, open fires and even pet friendly cottages. Perhaps the main attraction is the weekly market and auction that take place on a Thursday, but there is also a farmers market once a month. In Fakenham you will also find three supermarkets, a cinema, pubs, restaurants and many other interesting shops. D’inacios Brasserie, in Newman’s Yard, comes highly recommended; they serve great food in relaxed surroundings and also do a lovely cup of coffee. Fakenham has a surprisingly interesting Gas Museum, the popular Fakenham Race Course and a ten pin bowling alley and childrens ball play and adventure centre . Thursford is close by. Plenty to keep you amused on the occasional rainy day!
