Brancaster Staithe

Brancaster, and next door Brancaster Staithe, can be found along the coastal road, half way between Hunstanton and Wells-next-the-Sea, and are two very popular Norfolk villages that are well worth a visit. Brancaster boasts a wonderful beach which stretches for miles and this is also where the golf club is based – teeing off with views over the sea is a treat for any golfer! There is a very good village shop and the newly refurbished Ship Inn is a fantastic place to enjoy good food after a day of sightseeing along this idyllic part of the Norfolk coast. Kett Country Cottages have a number of holiday properties in this area with undoubtedly have one that will suit all your requirements.

Brancaster Staithe has a harbour, sailing club and two great pubs – The White Horse and The Jolly Sailors. These two villages are very popular and are lively and fun whatever time of year you chose to visit. Life here centres on the harbour and its thriving sailing and fishing community and the area is renowned for its delicious mussels – a speciality here.

There is much to do and see in this part of the county, with beautiful beaches, Scolt Head Island where the seals make their home, salt marshes and bird life. The coastal path which runs for forty seven miles along the North Norfolk coast can be picked up here so you can easily walk to and from as many (or as few!) villages as you like. Many people choose this area to come and photograph or paint and there are many exhibitions and courses based here throughout the year.

If you fancy something a little more active, how about sailing, sea kayaking, kiting or some other form of water sports? There are many fun and exciting activities available and Kett Country Cottages can help you arrange an itinerary to suit you requirements during your stay with us.
