Holiday Cottages in Sandringham
Probably best known as the place where the Queen has one of her much loved country homes, Sandringham can be found between the large towns of King’s Lynn and Fakenham in West Norfolk. Parts of the Sandringham Estate are open to the public and there is much to do and see here, so be sure to make it a part of your trip if you are holidaying in this part of Norfolk. There are a number of other magnificent stately homes to discover nearby including Houghton Hall and Holkham Hall. Heading north you will also come across Blickling and Felbrigg Hall which are also worthy of a visit.
Every July the highly prestigious Sandringham Flower Show takes place, set in the stunning grounds of Sandringham House. The event has been taking place for over one hundred years and highlights the very best in horticulture and is often attended by its Patron, the Queen herself. This is an entertaining day for all the family.
King’s Lynn is nine miles away and has markets on both Tuesdays and Saturdays each week, as well as an enormous range of shops, the Majestic cinema, museums, the Corn Exchange theatre in Tuesday Market Place and many pubs and places to eat. There is a mainline station here that runs direct to Cambridge and London.
Heading west are Heacham and the traditional family seaside resort of Hunstanton where there are endless activities available; fun amusement arcades, a fairground and bowling alley, aquarium and seal sanctuary, Splash leisure pool, the Princess Theatre and when the weather is fair you can take a boat trip out to see the grey seals or play golf at one of the many local golf courses. Whatever your idea of fun, there is something for everyone and Kett Country Cottages have a number of holiday cottages in the Sandringham area to suit all your needs, whether you are planning a weekend away in Norfolk, or are bringing the family for a longer stay.
