Cottages in Sheringham

The seaside town of Sheringham is a few miles west of Cromer along the North Norfolk coast. Every Saturday there is a popular market which can be found next to the railway station and the town also has a good selection of specialist shops such as second-hand books, antiques, bric-a-brac and a variety of arts and craft shops as well as a supermarket for all your everyday needs.

The Sheringham Little Theatre has a wide range of productions on throughout the year including a well-established summer repertory season running from July to September, and a popular pantomime at Christmas. If you are planning a festive weekend away at the end of the year, why not take your young children on the Santa Special steam train – one of the diesel and steam trains that run all year round, travelling along the ‘Poppy Line’ from Sheringham to Holt and back, via Weybourne. Santa is waiting by his open fire at Weybourne Station (specially transformed into Santaland) ready to give all children a warm welcome and a present. After a period of time looking around the station, passengers re-board the train for their journey back to Sheringham. With professional entertainers and snacks on board, this Christmas will never be forgotten after this special North Norfolk Railway's treat.

The Sheringham museum reopened earlier this year located in "The Mo", a modern building on the town's seafront. Displays focus on the town's fishing industry and development as a holiday resort, as well as the activities of the Sheringham lifeboat station, including three original lifeboats. Slightly inland is Sheringham Country Park which is owned by the National Trust and in late spring, early summer is ablaze with colour due to the abundance of azaleas and rhododendrons dotted throughout the woodland that the park is famous for. It is also well known for its stunning views of the Norfolk coastline, so well worth a visit during your holiday in Norfolk.
