A detached single-storey property, this is a homely cottage situated in the East Norfolk village of Geldeston. The understated exterior of the property belies the period-style interior, with its exposed timber beams and huge brick fireplace with a warming wood burner. The bedrooms are both restful retreats, whilst the tranquil garden can be accessed through the dining room and is mainly set to lawn with a table and chairs provided for al fresco dining.
The sleepy village of Geldeston lies on the River Waveney and is separated from the navigable sections of the Norfolk Broads by a historic lock. There are two village pubs within half-a-mile of the property, as well as a convenient shop and post office just one mile away.
Just 3 miles downriver from Geldeston, the market town of Beccles is a delightful place from which to hire riverboats for the day. The town’s numerous small squares are linked with narrow streets and lined with a fantastic array of independent shops as well as a great selection of places to eat. Continue another 10 miles east to Lowestoft, with its delightful stretch of sandy beach backed by restaurants, cafes, tennis courts, and a bowling green.
