Walnut Cottage lies at the heart of the village community, opposite a friendly, family-run builders merchant and close to all amenities. Within a five minute stroll you can sample Norfolk’s famous fish and chips, enjoy homemade, locally-sourced food at The Old Bank bistro, pick up the morning papers, fresh croissants and other provisions at the well-stocked, modern Co-op and pay a visit to The Rose & Crown, consistently rated by The Good Pub Guide as one of the best pubs in the UK, with its excellent restaurant, traditional ales and welcoming bars (no designated driver needed). It’s also dog friendly and has a children’s play area outside in the sunny, walled garden.
There is a farmer’s market held on the second Friday of each month, and the village cricket green and impressive church are at the end of the road. Younger guests will love Snettisham Farm Park with its deer safaris, lamb feeding and trails to explore (and a lovely coffee shop).
Snettisham is 5 miles from the Royal Sandringham Estate, which offers excellent walks, landscaped gardens and grounds and an annual flower festival. The popular beaches of Hunstanton and Brancaster are only a short drive away, and the renowned RSPB Reserve of Titchwell Marsh and the Snettisham Nature reserve are also within easy reach.
