Situated on a small loke (lane) in the historic market town of Holt, this pretty two-bedroomed cottage is in a wonderfully quiet location and yet is only a quarter of a mile from a great selection of amenities. Tastefully decorated in a contemporary style, its exposed wooden beams give a characterful nod to its history. A charming south-facing patio sits to the front of the property and there is private parking beyond, offering easy access to a whole host of great days out.
Walk the short distance into the town where the mellow Georgian streets are home to a selection of traditional shops. Dens of antiques make for great browsing and small arty shops and galleries will be keen to show you their wares. Beautiful tea rooms and cafes offer a rest for weary feet and if you have the energy, a walk around the lovely Holt Country Park, a mile out of the town, cannot be beaten.
If beaches are more your thing, you can’t go wrong with the traditional seaside resort of Cromer, 11 miles from Holt. With a long esplanade leading to a pier and lifeboat station, this will give you a taste of a proper seaside holiday. Visit the RNLI Henry Blogg Museum while there or for a different type of museum, venture further afield to the Queen’s Norfolk residence of Sandringham, 30 miles away, where you can wander around the house, museum and gardens at your leisure.
