At a glance

  • Cosy period cottage which was the former-bakery with original features such as areas of exposed brick and a fireplace with wood burner
  • Located in the coastal village of Blakeney, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
  • Situated 2.5 miles from the pebble beach at Cley-next-the-Sea and set 1.5 miles away from a National Trust coastal nature reserve

Nestled in the heart of Blakeney, this traditional cottage was once part of the village bakery and now offers relaxing accommodation for a family yet is cosy enough for a romantic retreat for two. Curl up in front of the crackling wood burner in the lounge, sit down to a home-cooked meal in the well-equipped kitchen/diner seating five or enjoy a sundowner in the shingled courtyard. As day turns into night, there are two restful bedrooms to retire to, a double and a single, plus a family bathroom to enjoy a long soak before sinking into the sheets. There is also parking available.

If you fancy a bite to eat, the village of Blakeney offers a tempting deli as well as a selection of pubs and cafes and an array of shops to browse. Spend a leisurely afternoon wandering along the banks of the river towards the coast or hop aboard one of the seal-spotting boat trips from the village quay which head west to the nearby National Trust nature reserve.

When you want to feel the sand between your toes, the harbour town of Wells-next-the-Sea (9 miles) boasts a soft, sandy beach backed by a string of colourful beach huts, while the sweeping sands of Holkham Bay, which you might recognise as the dramatic backdrop to the film Shakespeare in Love, are within 10 miles of the cottage. If beautiful gardens are more your thing, head to Wiveton Hall (1 mile) which also offers a pick-your-own fruit farm.

A comfortable cottage and a good location with walks from the door and several good eating places locally. Looks bigger in the pictures than in the flesh. Drive way very tight even with a medium size car. Welcome pack on arrival, which was appreciated but most basics common to other properties missing. Do your research before you go about walks, loRead morecal amenities etc. No visitor book or much information provided. Hide

A small, comfortable cottage right on Blakeney High St with the huge benefit of parking in the courtyard at the rear, where there is a picnic table for the sole use of the cottage. Comfortable sofas, modern tv, central heating, with a wood burner for cold weather. A very well equipped kitchen and new appliances. Highly recommended.

Great location, but accommodation needs some tlc to upgrade a little and the stove proved difficult despite us being used to using one. Well stocked kitchen with utensils and crockery etc but no washing machine was noticable given the weather we had (sadly) and would be a valuable addition. Lovely village with fabulous access to pubs, restaurants aRead morend shops. 5 stars for location! Hide

Good location, good value for money, carparking limited but manageable. Some adjoining property noise heard but not disruptive. Key safe wouldn't open easily several times, which was a bit worrying . Hoping to come back.
