Escape to the magical Norfolk Broads when you stay at this delightful cottage in Honing. Up to six of you, plus a couple of contented canines, are welcome at the three-bedroom, village property, which has a wood burner and garden. Hire a day cruiser and take to the enchanting waterways to discover the unique landscape; plan afternoons on the beach and shopping trips into Norwich, 13 miles away.
Make your way into this traditional Norfolk property to find yourselves in the lounge, with its brick fireplace and ceiling beam. Bask in the glow of the wood burner, watch a film on the Smart TV and plan the following day’s activities. Wander through to the kitchen to make a cup of tea or to whip up a tasty holiday meal with fresh produce sourced in Norfolk towns and farm shops. There is also a shower room, with WC, at this level. Climb the steep, cottage-style stairs, which are not suitable for those who are less mobile or under the age of seven, to find another shower room, with WC, plus three small double bedrooms. Dine outside in the Norfolk sunshine, where the pretty garden features a pond, again not suitable for little ones. Up to three cars can park at the cottage.
Head out on walks and cycle rides from the cottage: follow the 3.5-mile Honing Lock walk, for example, through meadows and along part of Weaver’s Way. Visit the famous East Ruston Old Vicarage Gardens, 4.5 miles away; venture 7.5 miles into Wroxham to hire a motorboat, rowing boats or canoes to explore the area from the water. Plan days out to the sandy beaches of Norfolk’s east coast, approximately 10 miles away, where you can swim or enjoy water sports at Sea Palling or look for seals at Happisburgh.
