Property code: 85833

Located above a deli serving fresh food this second storey property is ideally placed for couples or a small family looking to explore Norfolk within easy reach of the coast and the famous Norfolk Broads.

Retreat to this hideaway in North Norfolk’s Cawston and savour the peace and tranquillity of the charming village. Sleeping up to four guests, and also welcoming one canine companion, the two-bedroom apartment is set above a delicatessen and cafe, serving and selling fresh Norfolk produce, and could be perfect for a family or two couples holidaying together. From here, head out on walks across the scenic countryside. Plan trips to beauty spots, family attractions and historic houses. Venture approximately 15 miles to reach the coast, where you can paddle, swim and enjoy other traditional seaside activities.

Let yourselves in and climb the staircase up to your inviting accommodation. Make your way into the sunny kitchen/diner to make a cup of tea to enjoy with the cakes you have bought in the delicatessen downstairs. Unpack the rest of your shopping ready to whip up something tasty for dinner later. Dine together here or through in the lounge/diner, where there is another table. Afterwards, settle on the soft seating to watch the TV, with Freesat. At the end of each exhilarating day, wander through to either the king-size bedroom or the twin for a good night’s sleep. The twin bedroom has zip-and-link beds and can be arranged as a super-king if discussed in advance. Wake up to enjoy a hot shower before breakfast. Sit out in the courtyard garden on warm days for a little fresh air. There is parking for one car with the apartment.

Visit striking Blickling Hall, a Jacobean National Trust property, which is about 5 miles away and set in approximately 4,600 acres of magnificent parkland. Drive 5 miles into Aylsham to catch a train along the narrow gauge, heritage railway to Wroxham, through picturesque countryside. Hire a boat for an hour or two in Wroxham and explore the Broads.

  • 2 bedrooms - 1 king-size and 1 twin zip-and-link (which can be made up as a super-king-size on request)
  • Shower room with shower and WC
  • TV with Freesat in lounge
  • Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher
  • Off-road parking for two cars

We had a lovely week at the Lookout. Clean and spacious, comfortable beds and a good shower! I know others have written about the stairs, but they were not a problem. Easy distance to the coast, NT properties and Norwich. Friendly owners and a good Deli below.

Fabulous and extremely clean property with amazing space to relax in. Great location for the best that Norfolk has to offer. As mentioned in other reviews the spiral staircase is a tad tricky, especially if you have large and heavy luggage.

Lovely, comfortable apartment for a very relaxing stay. Plenty of space to spread out at the end of the day. The spiral staircase is quite steep, but wasn't a problem for us. Breakfast in the Deli below is one of the best I've had in years - but so filling we forgot to have lunch :)

The apartment was lovely. It is large, comfortable and well equipped. The tea, coffee and cake were much appreciated. Nicely located. Delicious breakfast served in the cafe downstairs and a decent shop for your other needs. Great place but it must be said the staircase is a challenge!!

We had a very comfortable and lovely stay for two weeks at the Lookout! We visited with our two young children and it was very comfortable and memorable stay. We felt very welcome and supported by the hosts! Also really enjoyed the little touches of local baked goods and drink left for us! Thank you :) Would definitely recommend!

very comfortable little apartment. the Stairs on entry are very steep / Spiral, not good if you have a disability. if you are over 6feet beware of the low ceilings and beams in the bathroom and kitchen. great too have the Deli under the apartment, great breakfasts and produce. Lovely people.

Lovely little apartment with everything we needed. Fantastic deli downstairs with a delicious breakfast and sandwich offering and some lovely treats to buy to take home with us. Brilliant location in a quiet village and not that far from Norwich, Cromer, Holt and other places for day trips out. All in all- would highly recommend.

Probably the most comfortable stay we have had in 3 years of regular rentals. Very spacious, well equipped, extremely clean with friendly and helpful owners. The location above the owners' deli is an added advantage. There is a carpeted spiral staircase to access the accommodation which could be challenging to anyone unsure of their footing.
