Surrounded by countryside and field views, this homely property provides a small family or couples a perfect holiday home and base in which to explore the very best of Norfolk
Immerse yourselves in the tranquil Norfolk countryside when you stay at this welcoming cottage at Banningham, almost 3 miles from Aylsham. Set within the grounds of the owner’s home, yet benefitting from its privacy, the single-storey cottage welcomes four guests and two of their dogs, and has a lovely garden with rural views. From here, visit renowned National Trust properties in the area, head to the beach at Mundesley, 10 miles away, or take a journey on the narrow gauge, heritage railway from Aylsham to Wroxham, where you can hire a boat on the Norfolk Broads.
Open the front door, wander along the hall and make your way into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Find you have a handy washing machine in here, plus all the equipment you require to help you prepare delicious dinners with the fresh Norfolk produce you have bought. Dine together at the table then amble over to relax in front of a good film on the Smart TV. Open the doors to the garden on fine days so you can all spill out into the sunshine. As night begins to fall, make your way to either the king-size bedroom, with en-suite shower room and Smart TV, or the double bedroom. There is also a family shower room. Dine outside on spring and summer days. Ask to store your cycles if you have brought them along and find you have parking for two cars.
Visit Blickling Hall, 3.5 miles from your base, with its impressive Jacobean house, immaculate gardens and extensive parkland grounds. Felbrigg Hall (8 miles) is another National Trust property worth exploring. Have a day out in Cromer (9 miles), where you can walk along the pier, paddle in the sea and dine on its famous crab in numerous eateries.
