Retreat to this exquisite character cottage in the renowned Norfolk village of Walsingham. This small place has a long history of religious pilgrimage, dating back to the 11th century when the Lady Walsingham of the time was said to have experienced visions of the Virgin Mary. Visit the famous abbey: wander in its beautiful grounds and see the ruins. Venture just 5 miles to Wells-next-the-Sea to potter in its shops, dine out and spend time on its picturesque, wide sandy beach. Sleeping just two people, the one-bedroom cottage could be ideal for a couple seeking a romantic break.

Open the front door of the cottage to find yourselves in an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with a beamed ceiling and inglenook fireplace housing a wood burner. Light a fire, unpack the fresh Norfolk produce you have bought then whip up a delicious dinner for two in the kitchen area. Dine together then perhaps watch a film on the Smart TV before climbing the stairs up to the king-size bedroom. Run yourself a bubble bath in the en-suite bathroom, then enjoy a superb night’s sleep. Bask in the sunshine out in front of the cottage. Stroll across the shared garden and listen to the sound of the river flowing by. Find parking for one car at the cottage.

Have an afternoon out at Holkham Hall, 6.5 miles away. Walk in the landscaped parkland grounds, with their roaming deer: see the immaculate walled garden or spend time on the beautiful beach, which has been a backdrop to many famous films and television shows. Drive 9 miles to Burnham Market, with its pretty green, range of independent shops, gastropubs and other eateries. Have a day out in the market town of Holt, 11 miles away, also known for its colourful outlets, many selling local produce.
