Set in the heart of historic Holt, this traditional flint-faced cottage combines both charm and comfort. Close to shops and places to eat and drink, it’s surrounded by beautiful countryside and within easy reach of the coast. An ideal escape for a couple or small family at any time of the year, it boasts a warming wood burner for cosy nights in, and a gorgeous courtyard for al fresco relaxation.

Step into the welcoming lounge/diner, where you can hang your coats by the door and fall straight into the comfortable seating that surrounds a large fireplace with a wood burner. If you feel like an evening at home, there’s a Smart TV for streaming all kinds of programmes and films. The dining nook is ahead of you and, a few steps further, you’ll find the Shaker-style kitchen, with a quarry-tiled floor that creates real country-style appeal. Upstairs, the double bedroom features a pretty metal bed and lovely linens, and for little ones there’s a bunk-bed room for two. Both bedrooms share a spacious family shower room which has been elegantly fitted out. Access the sunny courtyard through the back door in the kitchen, and you can nip out for a quick coffee, take an aperitif before supper or linger over an evening meal under the pergola.

Holt is one of those places that people can’t resist coming back to again and again. Explore its Georgian streets on foot, trying out the cafes, pubs and restaurants and indulging in some retail therapy. Don’t miss a ride on the Poppy Line, which whisks you on a steam train to the Victorian resort of Sheringham, or a drive out to Blakeney Point, 5.5 miles, from where you can take a boat to see England’s largest grey seal colony.

Nice cosy cottage with good facilities. Great location, very quiet despite being in the town centre. Private parking space a bonus, only a 2 minute walk away, however it is down a bit of a track with no lighting, so very dark when we arrived. All in all we very much enjoyed our stay.

We had a lovely stay in Songbirds cottage. A very cosy, well maintained and clean accommodation. Smaller than it appeared in pictures (especially the 'double bedroom' was small), and a bit on the snug side for two adults, two teens and a German shepherd(!) but we enjoyed being right in the centre of Holt and close to restaurants and shops.

Excellent cottage with everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay in Holt, with all the shops, restaurants and cafes a very short walk away. Highly recommend this cottage and the location.
