This detached, 1820s house is a lovely mixture of old and new. Grade 2 listed with a Georgian frontage and an interesting porch and window features, it has a very spacious and modern extension with large glazed doors and windows overlooking the garden. The old part of the house has retained many of the original features with cast iron fireplaces, pamment floor tiles and feature beams. The modern part has wooden flooring and contemporary styling which makes it a very spacious family home with a large enclosed garden ideal for children. The house has 4 bedrooms and can sleep 7 adults plus one child maximum, or 2 children in the bunk room, with additional day bed for a small child. There is also wide selection of books, games and toys.
Its central rural location means that Syderstone is near to the attractions of Houghton Hall (4 miles away), Holkham Hall (9 miles and you can hire cycles there to explore), and Sandringham (15 miles). Birdwatchers can go to Sculthorpe Moor reserve (6 miles) or Snettisham (11.5 miles) and children and adults alike will love Pensthorpe Natural Park (10 miles) and Bircham Mill (6 miles). Sailing and walking at Burnham Overy Staithe is 9.5 miles away, so there really is something for everyone here without having to go to the expense of a coastal location.

Spacious and comfortable and nice blend of Gothic and modern - centrally located for visiting north Norfolk - dog enjoyed the walks.
A beautiful cottage, a great stay within a lovely village. The local pub is friendly and welcoming. Will stay again. Doggies loved the garden and so did we. Fantastic views across the valley.
The range of toys, games and garden equipment was very much appreciated by our young family. The kitchen was stocked with an enormous amount of kitchenware and the gift of local bread and apple juice was much appreciated.
A wonderful week's holiday in lovely accommodation. The children loved the games and toys.
A lovely summer holiday in this beautiful house. Perfect weather and beaches for the children. Delightful villages, churches and blood gate camp to visit.
We stayed in Thurnby House which was stunning. Clean, bright and very well equipped.
A glorious summer holiday with fabulous weather and delighted to stay in such a wonderful house. Great to be back here in Norfolk.
Beautiful house, great surroundings, a lovely stay.
A lovely place to stay and we appreciated the last minute booking discount.
What a gorgeous house. We really enjoyed our stay and loved the area.
Excellent cottage, very comfortable and well equipped. There was a problem with the upstairs toilet but this was dealt with very swiftly and without any inconvenience. We all had a very enjoyable stay. Excellent meals out and in particular at The Gin Trap at Ringstead and the The Dunn Cow at Salthouse which both welcomed dogs.
It (Thurnby) is a really great house with plenty of space for all the family and we really enjoyed the stay.
What a lovely house! We have had a wonderful time here and will take home some wonderful memories... our children loved the house - especially the crow's nest. p.s the owner has excellent taste- house is beautiful.
Fantastic weekend - fell in love with the house on arrival. Lots of room to play and relax. Beautiful area, loads to explore.
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house. There was plenty of space for us all (6 adults, 1 child, 2 toddlers and a baby). The garden room was fantastic - a very relaxing place to sit and chat. The trampoline was a big hit with children and adults alike.
We all enjoyed our stay at this wonderful house. We had loads of room and Quinn enjoyed the toys. Every detail had been thought through. Thank you for a lovely stay. 6 adults, 1 child, 1 dog all happy.
The kids loved the house! So much so, they sometimes either didn't want to leave or when we took them to the beach they wanted to get home to play in the garden with the toys! We were able to get out and about every day and had everything we needed even if we did not bring it from home. 4 adults 3 children 1 infant and 1 dog. All very happy. Brilliant time had by all, wish we were still there.
Another great week in Norfolk. Perfect weather and a beautiful place to stay. Thank you.
Such a beautiful cottage. We have all enjoyed our stay so much and hope to return. The kids enjoyed all the toys and we thank you.
