In the heart of the market town of Wymondham sits this charming 19th century railway cottage. Renovated in 2013, plenty of original features have been retained throughout, including feature fireplaces, sash windows and a pretty Victorian porch. With a cosy sitting room complete with TV/DVD and electric flame fire and a delightful patio garden, this is ideal for a restful break for two.

Wymondham is a thriving market town 10 miles southwest of Norwich. The town boasts a selection of independent shops, cafes and pubs together with some of the county’s most characterful houses. Set against the Tiffey Valley is Wymondham Abbey, one of the grandest religious buildings in East Anglia.

Adjacent to the property is The Mid Norfolk Railway, where steam and diesel trains run to the market town of Dereham, connecting to the coastline at Sheringham and Weybourne, the Georgian town of Holt and much more. Culture lovers should visit nearby Blickling (26 miles) and Felbrigg Halls (40 miles), while romantic days out can be enjoyed aboard a boat through the Norfolk Broads (20 miles).

A very pleasant property in a great location. Absolutely perfect for people that like to travel by train. Although we visited in the middle of winter, the property was extremely comfortable and warm. Very well equipped with everything you would possibly need for a great holiday.

Excellent cottage and surrounding areas. The cottage is situated close to town and supermarkets. Ideally located for access to local walks and amenities, and excellent train service to Norwich and other areas of Norfolk. Definitely a great little place to stay and somewhere to return to in the future.

A very cosy little cottage. comfortable and warm. Convenient parking right outside the front gate. Although close to the railway station, this was never a problem - the noise from the trains was minimal. Excellent value for money and would definitely stay here again.

Very much enjoyed our stay in this very conveniently situated and comfortable cottage. Handy for the main line station and the mid Norfolk steam railway and just a few minutes walk from town. Very good breakfasts served at the Bistro at the station. Enjoyed meals at The Railway pub and the Thai restaurant at the hotel in town. Only used our car oncRead moree as made full use of the trains. Wymondham is a very pleasant little market town. Hide

The kitchen is a decent size with a good washing machine, and full sized oven and a separate dining room leads out to a courtyard garden. A downstairs toilet is a bonus. A cosy cottage in a nice position with walks nearby. An excellent bistro is just a few yards away, as is the railway station with trains to Norwich and other East Anglia locations. A ten minute walk takes you to the very attractive town of Wymondham with its remarkable 12th century abbey and range of good shops.

We found the cottage very clean and well equipped, outside the property are two yellow lines we noticed on arrival but we found as a resident it was ok to park there. Part of the old station has been taken over and is now a nice Bistro so you dont have to walk too far for a nice meal.
