In the heart of the market town of Wymondham sits this charming 19th century railway cottage. Renovated in 2013, plenty of original features have been retained throughout, including feature fireplaces, sash windows and a pretty Victorian porch. With a cosy sitting room complete with TV/DVD and electric flame fire and a delightful patio garden, this is ideal for a restful break for two.

Wymondham is a thriving market town 10 miles southwest of Norwich. The town boasts a selection of independent shops, cafes and pubs together with some of the county’s most characterful houses. Set against the Tiffey Valley is Wymondham Abbey, one of the grandest religious buildings in East Anglia.

Adjacent to the property is The Mid Norfolk Railway, where steam and diesel trains run to the market town of Dereham, connecting to the coastline at Sheringham and Weybourne, the Georgian town of Holt and much more. Culture lovers should visit nearby Blickling (26 miles) and Felbrigg Halls (40 miles), while romantic days out can be enjoyed aboard a boat through the Norfolk Broads (20 miles).

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

We rented in December and the cottage was warm, welcoming and comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking. For those with a dog, there is a small biotope 100 yards down the road where the dog can go for a run off the lead. Unfortunately the free parking just outside the cottage is often occupied unnecessarily by the family who run the taxRead moreis and bistro. But in the evenings there are always other parking spaces that can be used. Hide

Lovely quiet cottage adjacent to the railway station. You don't notice the trains but it's really convenient for a day out by train! Wymondham is a lovely town to spend a week based there to explore Norfolk.

The cottage is 5 Star in every respect and we will certainly return without hesitation if we need to revisit the area. The welcome items of bread and milk plus the other nice touches make this a superior holiday home in a great location. The only BUT is parking which was not as robust as we would have liked. Recently double yellow lines and a largeRead more railway ticket machine have appeared and restricted available space. A dedicated parking space would go a long way but we were OK.. Hide

Lovely well equipped cottage next to wymondham railway station. Parking was a worry and the station car park did get very busy at times we did park in front of the cottage but it was on double yellow lines. The cottage was perfect for a couple and very well laid out and only a short walk into the town which was well worth a visit.

This cottage is very well located for visiting Wymondham, Norwich & the Broads. It is right next to the train station but any noise from the trains is not obtrusive, in fact given the historic nature of the station buildings it feels rather quaint. Parking is easy right outside the front door. The lounge is cozy & the bedroom is large. Given the hoRead moret weather we sat outside on the rear patio most evenings, with a glass (or more) of wine. Very pleasant. Hide

The best holiday accommodation I have found in the UK. Just right for two people and a dog, without being cramped. Very well appointed with all mod cons and tastefully decorated. Train travel on the doorstep, historical market town and Abbey, and beautiful riverside walks.

The most northerly county in the East of England, Norfolk is a land of beautiful contrasts. From the swooning reed beds and endless maze of waterways in the Norfolk Broads; the unspoilt stretches of fens and shingle spits where bird and wildlife thrive; a famous royal palace and the historic cathedral city of Norwich, this enticing area of England is just waiting to be discovered. Visit Sandringham Palace and see where the Queen lives or find out where lavender grows; you could journey to one of the largest seal haul outs in Europe at Blakeney Point or have a traditional day at the seaside at Cromer and Great Yarmouth. The cathedral gilded city of Norwich is a wonderful place to lose yourself either walking the ramparts of Norwich Castle or the RAF Air Defence Radar Museum. The city has an exceptional array of shops, cafes and restaurants to enjoy. Well connected to the national rail and road network, Norfolk is easily accessible from London, the M25 and from major city terminals.

Norfolk is characterised by its horizons and big skies, straight highways and rural trappings. Also, when it comes to attractions, visitors to the county will be spoilt for choice. If you love animals and birds, head to RSPB Titchwell Marsh, or the Cley-Next-The-Sea. With such a long coastline Norfolk boasts some magnificent stretches of beach – favourites include Cromer, Old Hunstanton, Wells-Next-The Sea, the dunes of Winterton-on-Sea, and Brancaster (a favourite for dog owners).

There are so many places to visit and activities to get involved in on a Norfolk holiday. We have some lovely properties including country cottages, farm conversions, large family houses, apartments and surburban home from homes in our collection. Why not find your perfect holiday home today?
