Previously an apple store, this cute cottage is set in the grounds of the owner’s Georgian home and yet offers the privacy and seclusion that guests look for in a quiet relaxed break. This is a single storey property, though there are two steps between the well-equipped kitchen area and the lounge/diner. Just outside the front door, a patio seating area is a pleasant place to sit out and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Situated in the pretty seaside village of Cley-next-the-Sea this cottage lies just a mile’s walk across the marshes from the shingle beach. For those with an interest in wildlife, it is worth calling into the Cley Marshes Visitor Centre to find out more about the area and to make use of the viewing deck and cafe. A second cafe can be found just outside the village centre in the beautiful surroundings of Wiveton Hall (0.5 miles), alongside which there is a seasonal pick-your-own farm and a fantastic farm.

The village of Cley-next-the-Sea is one of several villages clustered around this part of Norfolk’s north coast, all of which have their own character. Blakeney (1.5 miles) for example is home to a peaceful National Trust nature reserve home to a colony of grey seals, whilst Salthouse (2.5) has a well-regarded crab shop, a popular spot with locals and visitors alike. Further around the coast there are some marvellous beaches, including the spectacular one at Holkham Bay which stretches out for several miles, ensuring everyone can always find a spot, even in the height of summer.

The cottage was warm, clean and well equipped, set in a very peaceful spot. We appreciated being able to park right outside the door and with no leaves on the beautiful trees around we enjoyed the light without any mess.

Lovely little get away. A warm and well equipped cottage including a nice basket of goodies on arrival. Been in a secure garden we had no worries if our dog managed to slip away from us but after all that running on the nearby dog friendly beaches she was more than happy to chill out around the parking area.

The photos showed a neat outside view, but this was unusable. Suggest DO NOT park outside the property as your car will be quickly be covered in bird xxxx and tree debris. Location once found was great area to enjoy.
