Ideally located in a tranquil spot near the heart of a thriving market town, this tastefully refurbished cottage makes a delightful holiday home for a family looking to enjoy the Norfolk countryside.

A beautifully finished two-storey cottage, clearly a lot of care and attention has been put into creating a stylish holiday retreat. The rooms are full of light and tastefully furnished in a chic elegant style, while the garden to the rear of the property is a wonderfully spacious area with a lawn, patio seating area, and a pretty summerhouse providing plenty of space to sit back, unwind, and simply take in the peaceful surroundings.

Holt, where this property is situated, is one of Norfolk’s best-loved towns, and it is easy to see why. An interesting array of independent shops line the attractive Georgian streets where there is also a fantastic range of places to eat, most of which can be reached within a few hundred metres of the cottage. On the outskirts of the town, a mile from the property, the Auden Theatre is situated in the grounds of the Gresham School and offers an interesting mix of plays and live music concerts.

Heading in any direction out of Holt, visitors will quickly find themselves in the picturesque Norfolk countryside, an ideal backdrop for enjoying scenic country walks and cycle rides. Continuing north, they will soon reach the coastal village of Salthouse (4 miles) with its shingle beach and locally well-known crab shop. There is plenty more to see and do in the area too, including the spectacular beach at Wells-next-the-Sea (12 miles), the elegant historic properties of Felbrigg Hall (8.5 miles) and Houghton Hall (20 miles).

The most northerly county in the East of England, Norfolk is a land of beautiful contrasts. From the swooning reed beds and endless maze of waterways in the Norfolk Broads; the unspoilt stretches of fens and shingle spits where bird and wildlife thrive; a famous royal palace and the historic cathedral city of Norwich, this enticing area of England is just waiting to be discovered. Visit Sandringham Palace and see where the Queen lives or find out where lavender grows; you could journey to one of the largest seal haul outs in Europe at Blakeney Point or have a traditional day at the seaside at Cromer and Great Yarmouth. The cathedral gilded city of Norwich is a wonderful place to lose yourself either walking the ramparts of Norwich Castle or the RAF Air Defence Radar Museum. The city has an exceptional array of shops, cafes and restaurants to enjoy. Well connected to the national rail and road network, Norfolk is easily accessible from London, the M25 and from major city terminals.

Norfolk is characterised by its horizons and big skies, straight highways and rural trappings. Also, when it comes to attractions, visitors to the county will be spoilt for choice. If you love animals and birds, head to RSPB Titchwell Marsh, or the Cley-Next-The-Sea. With such a long coastline Norfolk boasts some magnificent stretches of beach – favourites include Cromer, Old Hunstanton, Wells-Next-The Sea, the dunes of Winterton-on-Sea, and Brancaster (a favourite for dog owners).

There are so many places to visit and activities to get involved in on a Norfolk holiday. We have some lovely properties including country cottages, farm conversions, large family houses, apartments and surburban home from homes in our collection. Why not find your perfect holiday home today?
