An attractive former forge offering comfortable accommodation for two guests set on one level, situated in the village of Saxlingham, just 5 miles from the North Norfolk coast.

This converted village forge is situated in the tranquil hamlet of Saxlingham, just 3 miles from the popular resort of Blakeney on the North Norfolk coast. The property is set over one level with many original features including an ancient wooden entrance door and vaulted ceilings with exposed beams. With one bedroom and bathroom, a cosy sitting room with log burner and country views over the owner’s orchard from a west-facing garden, this pretty cottage is ideal for quiet escapes by the sea.

The cottage is perfectly placed just 3 miles from the glorious Norfolk coastline with its long stretches of sand and sparkling sea. A 2-mile walk will take you to The Blue Bell pub at Langham where roast dinners followed by sticky toffee pudding are on the menu, and the charming Georgian town of Holt is only 3 miles away with its great selection of restaurants, shops and parks. Stop for a coffee in one of the stylish cafes and have a browse of the little craft shops while you are there.

If you feel like a trip further out, explore the Norfolk Coast AONB starting at Blakeney and finishing at RSPB Titchwell Marsh 20 miles away, where you’re sure to spot a great variety of feathered friends. Drive the 9 miles to the popular seaside resort of Wells-next-the-Sea and hop on the steam train to Walsingham or spend a day at the magical Holkham Beach, part of one of the largest National Nature Reserves in the country.

We spent a very relaxing week at Forge Cottage. The cottage is very well equipped, home from home. Plenty sightseeing areas to visit. The owners very pleasant and welcoming, would not hesitate to book another stay here.

A wonderfully luxurious and comfortable, surprisingly spacious and very well equipped cottage, in a beautiful natural environment. Would highly recommend. Good location for visiting the North Norfolk coast. Plenty of good walks and attractions nearby. Cottage was small and cosy, with low doorways, so anyone near 6ft tall has to take care!

A beautiful cottage which has been fitted out to a very high standard. Owners Fiona and John are very welcoming and supply some very nice goodies. It is in a lovely area. Definitely recommend it and we will most certainly be going back there.

The cottage was in a beautiful rural setting with lovely views across the lawn to the fields. The location was excellent with many interesting places to visit nearby, Blakeney, Cley, Burnham Market, Felbrigg Hall NT, Holt. The owners were very friendly and help available if you needed it.
