Close to the heart of Aylsham you'll find a true gem: the Half Moon Inn. A former 16th century inn and bakehouse, it's been lovingly restored and renovated to retain many original features, including the bread oven and feature beams throughout. Fittings and furnishings stylishly blend new with old to give a true country cottage feel, while being spacious enough for a family or group of six. For larger groups though, rent the property alongside Harvest Moon and Moonbeam, which together will house 12-14 guests.

 

Aylsham is a unique Norfolk town, with its market place owned by the National Trust. Two weekly markets are held here, which draw in locals and visitors alike, while there are plenty of shops, pubs and tea rooms for you to explore.

 

The city of Norwich is just 14 miles south, where you can sightsee by day and enjoy the many restaurants and bars at night. For days out with the children though, head to one of the area's breathtaking beaches; Cromer is 12 miles north and is a hit with families looking for a traditional seaside escape. Explore museums, make sandcastles on the beach, or even try surfing in the North Sea waters.

The cottage is full of character, clean and spacious. It is beautifully furnished and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I would definitely stay there again.

Excellent location within a few minutes of the town centre. The cottage is very quaint and comfortable. Loads of character. A little tight to get in the parking space.

We really enjoyed our stay at Half Moon Inn. The cottage is very thoughtfully decorated and furnished, retaining the evident historical character, very comfortable with everything you could want for a happy stay. The cottage is well positioned in the lovely, pretty little village of Aylsham for all the fantastic Norfolk beaches and towns. Lovely stay at Half Moon Inn. Sofas could use an upgrade due to little padding but comfy enough. I'd be more than happy to recommend to anyone to stay here. The host was lovely and easy to contact if required. Everything was approx 20 minutes away and a local bus service helped when I didn't want to drive. We had a lovely stay here. The cottage it's self is spacious and comfortable. Aylsham has plenty of little shops to wonder round and cafes to eat in. Easy reach to beaches, Norwich and other near by attractions. Would recommend this cottage and location

What a lovely place for a family break. The cottage provided plenty of space for the family and everything we needed. The lovely little patio was well used in the gorgeous weather, catches the sun perfectly in the morning Local amenities all within walking distance. This old Coaching house has so many little hiding places our kids played hide and sRead moreeek for hours. The entrance if you have a big family car is tight but we discovered the easiest way is to reverse in and drive out. Hide
