We had a fabulous week staying here. The weather couldn't have been better. The lodge is nice. The owners are lovely people and nothing is too much trouble. The village has all you need, shop, chemist, bakery, butchers, The Nags Head is a good pub and the Chinese take away is excellent. We had some lovely walks in the forest. The husband enjoyed thRead moree fishing. Yes the dogs at the kennels do bark a lot but it didn't bother us. It was a joy watching the Swallows and House Martins in the mornings. Hide

Overall a very nice stay but the Kennels are very close and can be very noisy at times, a short walk to the fishing lake although you can drive to it if you wish, seems to have a lot of small carp in the lake so plenty of sport if thats what you want, the village is small with a co-op, pharmacy, Chinese takeaway, Kebab and pizza and 2 pubs both serRead moreving food. Comfortable clean beds, clean bath towels, shower head and wall mirror both are positioned too low. some will find that the settee is a little low. The constant barking 24/7 by the dogs at the kennels is annoying. The river setting is a pleasant spot to relax cannot comment on the pond. it is a pity that one cannot walk in the wood.

This is a well equipped lodge in a lovely location. The village of East Harling has all the amenities you'd want for a break: butchers, take away, two pubs and a well equipped co op. The log burner was a great addition and come with the first basket of logs. There is a small garden with the lodge which was great for my dog. Lodge is down a private Read moretrack/road so mininal traffic which is nice. Would definitely stay again. Lodge may benefit from blinds in the kitchen/utility for cosiness. Hide
