A traditional fisherman's cottage, offering beautifully maintained period accommodation for six guests located in the attractive harbour town of Wells-next-the-Sea on Norfolk's north coast.

With lovely views out to sea from a quirky ‘Look Out’ room overlooking the rooftops below, this traditional fisherman’s cottage has a true coastal feel. Located at the eastern end of Wells with private seafront parking and lawned garden and courtyard, the house has been tastefully furnished, offering four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a handy boot room for muddy wellies and coats. A shaker-style kitchen and large elegant dining room are the perfect place to come together to eat, and a sitting room with roaring log fire offers a relaxing night in on cold winter evenings.

This quaint part of Wells is within an easy stroll of all the traditional and contemporary shops of the town, as well as the seasonal narrow-gauge railway that takes you right to the beach. If you prefer a walk, stroll through the shady pinewoods behind the sands that lead out to a row of colourful beach huts on the beach. You may even see seals lazing about in the sun if you are lucky!

With many scenic walks from the area including the Holkham National Nature Reserve (2 miles) and RSPB Titchwell Marsh (12 miles), you will not be stuck for opportunities to spot some magnificent wildlife. If you prefer to sunbathe or swim, a golden stretch of sand goes right along the coast to the seaside resorts of Sheringham (18 miles) as well as Cromer (24 miles), which has a pier and lots of fun attractions to really give you that holiday feeling.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We had a lovely time. We loved the quirkiness of the cottage, the open fire, location and it was very well equipped. A great place to stay.

The most northerly county in the East of England, Norfolk is a land of beautiful contrasts. From the swooning reed beds and endless maze of waterways in the Norfolk Broads; the unspoilt stretches of fens and shingle spits where bird and wildlife thrive; a famous royal palace and the historic cathedral city of Norwich, this enticing area of England is just waiting to be discovered. Visit Sandringham Palace and see where the Queen lives or find out where lavender grows; you could journey to one of the largest seal haul outs in Europe at Blakeney Point or have a traditional day at the seaside at Cromer and Great Yarmouth. The cathedral gilded city of Norwich is a wonderful place to lose yourself either walking the ramparts of Norwich Castle or the RAF Air Defence Radar Museum. The city has an exceptional array of shops, cafes and restaurants to enjoy. Well connected to the national rail and road network, Norfolk is easily accessible from London, the M25 and from major city terminals.

Norfolk is characterised by its horizons and big skies, straight highways and rural trappings. Also, when it comes to attractions, visitors to the county will be spoilt for choice. If you love animals and birds, head to RSPB Titchwell Marsh, or the Cley-Next-The-Sea. With such a long coastline Norfolk boasts some magnificent stretches of beach – favourites include Cromer, Old Hunstanton, Wells-Next-The Sea, the dunes of Winterton-on-Sea, and Brancaster (a favourite for dog owners).

There are so many places to visit and activities to get involved in on a Norfolk holiday. We have some lovely properties including country cottages, farm conversions, large family houses, apartments and surburban home from homes in our collection. Why not find your perfect holiday home today?
