Located on a complex with history dating back to World War II. It’s decorated with unique furniture to provide a special and charming Norfolk country escape, and this property is perfect for couples.

Located just outside of Cranworth, this charming cottage with its antique furniture and fascinating history offers an ideal base for couples who wish to explore both the coast and countryside of Norfolk. Situated in countryside grounds, this property, along with three others, has been renovated from their former lives as officers’ quarters during WWII. The king-sized bedroom is furnished with romantic flourishes providing a chance to relax and unwind and the secluded patio area offers a great space for al fresco dining with a BBQ and garden furniture. Relax with a glass of wine and a great book.

Step outside and explore the plethora of footpaths in the immediate vicinity – take in the wildlife and countryside. Otherwise you could travel approximately 7 miles to the closest town of Dereham for shopping and eateries.

A little further afield, get back in touch with nature and enjoy tramping or biking along the verdant trails of Thetford Forest (20 miles). The Norfolk Broads are just over 30 miles away if you fancy finding your sea legs and messing about on the water, otherwise travel 10 miles and step back in time to immerse yourself in the history of rural Norfolk at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse.

We had a fantastic short break at Leon cottage. The cottages are in a very quiet rural location and it was easy to relax and unwind. They are very well equipped including washing machine, dryer and dishwasher. The site is dog friendly as the gardens are enclosed. Highly recommended and we will be returning as the area has a lot to offer.

Location

Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

The most northerly county in the East of England, Norfolk is a land of beautiful contrasts. From the swooning reed beds and endless maze of waterways in the Norfolk Broads; the unspoilt stretches of fens and shingle spits where bird and wildlife thrive; a famous royal palace and the historic cathedral city of Norwich, this enticing area of England is just waiting to be discovered. Visit Sandringham Palace and see where the Queen lives or find out where lavender grows; you could journey to one of the largest seal haul outs in Europe at Blakeney Point or have a traditional day at the seaside at Cromer and Great Yarmouth. The cathedral gilded city of Norwich is a wonderful place to lose yourself either walking the ramparts of Norwich Castle or the RAF Air Defence Radar Museum. The city has an exceptional array of shops, cafes and restaurants to enjoy. Well connected to the national rail and road network, Norfolk is easily accessible from London, the M25 and from major city terminals.

Norfolk is characterised by its horizons and big skies, straight highways and rural trappings. Also, when it comes to attractions, visitors to the county will be spoilt for choice. If you love animals and birds, head to RSPB Titchwell Marsh, or the Cley-Next-The-Sea. With such a long coastline Norfolk boasts some magnificent stretches of beach – favourites include Cromer, Old Hunstanton, Wells-Next-The Sea, the dunes of Winterton-on-Sea, and Brancaster (a favourite for dog owners).

There are so many places to visit and activities to get involved in on a Norfolk holiday. We have some lovely properties including country cottages, farm conversions, large family houses, apartments and surburban home from homes in our collection. Why not find your perfect holiday home today?
