Set in the heart of the lovely village of Snettisham, this pretty cottage makes a cosy retreat for a couple or small family who want to enjoy Norfolk’s beautiful beaches and tranquil countryside.

Lilac Cottage is a pretty, red brick terrace cottage at the centre of Snettisham village in Norfolk. This attractive holiday home is a cosy retreat sleeping up to four guests. It is a superb choice for couples and young families that love the west coast of Norfolk.

The cottage has been tastefully decorated with a light touch throughout. Guests will appreciate the fully-equipped kitchen the with its stable door into the garden with a sunny gravelled area to the rear. The cottage also retains many characterful features including the original oven and an open fire in the main bedroom. You can also curl up in front of the woodburner in the sitting room on chillier evenings to enjoy a movie or read a book.

The cottage is less than 1 mile from the Co-op store, and the excellent Rose & Crown pub - you should definitely try the Old Bank Bistro. For day trips head to Heacham and Hunstanton beaches (both within 5 miles), or endless walks in the surrounding countryside. Other days trips include Sandringham Estate and King's Lynn. The North Norfolk coast is a bit further on than Hunstanton and is home to some of England's largest areas of unspoilt coastline.

We can highly recommend Holkham Hall, Nature reserve & Pinewoods beach area. The estate is free to visit for cyclists & car parking is available (for visitors) free in Holkham village car park, from there it is family friendly traffic free cycling throughout the Estate grounds. Perfect! The cottage was charming in every way.

The most northerly county in the East of England, Norfolk is a land of beautiful contrasts. From the swooning reed beds and endless maze of waterways in the Norfolk Broads; the unspoilt stretches of fens and shingle spits where bird and wildlife thrive; a famous royal palace and the historic cathedral city of Norwich, this enticing area of England is just waiting to be discovered. Visit Sandringham Palace and see where the Queen lives or find out where lavender grows; you could journey to one of the largest seal haul outs in Europe at Blakeney Point or have a traditional day at the seaside at Cromer and Great Yarmouth. The cathedral gilded city of Norwich is a wonderful place to lose yourself either walking the ramparts of Norwich Castle or the RAF Air Defence Radar Museum. The city has an exceptional array of shops, cafes and restaurants to enjoy. Well connected to the national rail and road network, Norfolk is easily accessible from London, the M25 and from major city terminals.

Norfolk is characterised by its horizons and big skies, straight highways and rural trappings. Also, when it comes to attractions, visitors to the county will be spoilt for choice. If you love animals and birds, head to RSPB Titchwell Marsh, or the Cley-Next-The-Sea. With such a long coastline Norfolk boasts some magnificent stretches of beach – favourites include Cromer, Old Hunstanton, Wells-Next-The Sea, the dunes of Winterton-on-Sea, and Brancaster (a favourite for dog owners).

There are so many places to visit and activities to get involved in on a Norfolk holiday. We have some lovely properties including country cottages, farm conversions, large family houses, apartments and surburban home from homes in our collection. Why not find your perfect holiday home today?
