This enchanting little bolthole is situated in the grounds of the historic Abbey House in Binham, just 5 miles from the North Norfolk coastline. Mentioned in the Domesday book, it has the monastic ruins of the spectacular Benedictine St. Mary’s Priory nearby, now managed by English Heritage. Discover the continuous scandals attached to the priory and make sure you visit the Binham Market Cross, the site of an annual fair for many centuries.
For more history further afield, visit the breathtaking Castle Acre Priory, 25 miles away. These romantic ruins are sure to be an amazing backdrop for photographs and you can drive into King’s Lynn afterwards for a browse amongst the shops and have a cream tea in one of the town’s beautiful tea rooms. Beach lovers should stay nearer to home and pop to Wells-next-the-Sea, 6 miles away, where you can visit the sandy Norfolk coast as well drive along to a whole host of spectacular National Nature Reserves further along the coast.
