This cosy hideaway offers a quaint slice of Norfolk village life just a stone’s throw from the coast.

Monks Cottage is set in a quiet lane and overlooks the parish church of South Creake. The property has undergone complete renovation to provide a very cosy and stylish traditional country cottage. Built of traditional brick and flint, this end-of-row cottage is an ideal base for exploring the area or just relaxing away from it all, any time of the year. The stairs up to the bedrooms are steep so not suitable for very young children or those with limited mobility.

With pleasant outside space, the cottage is situated in the lovely, peaceful village of South Creake with a great pub a ten-minute walk away and a shop and supermarket within a 10-minute drive. It is also very conveniently located for the seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea and the thriving location Burnham Market which has a great range of shops, eateries and galleries to explore.

If you want to venture further, 6.5 miles away is the market town of Fakenham; visit on a Thursday to experience the Charter Market and see the whole town come to life. Also, 6.5 miles, but in the other direction have more of a bucket-and-spade day in the lovely seaside resort of Wells-next-the-Sea: build a sandcastle, dip your toes in the water or have a fish-and-chip stroll along the harbour.

  • 2 bedrooms - 1 double and 1 connecting twin, both accessed via steep cottage style stairs
  • 1 bathroom with bath, overhead electric shower, basin and WC
  • Electric oven and hob, fridge with small ice compartment
  • Freeview TV in the lounge
  • WIFI available - Due to rural location can be patchy
  • Open fire
  • Electric convector heaters
  • Bed linen and towels included
  • Regret no dogs
  • Small courtyard and gravel area
  • Parking on road nearby - can unload outside the property

The cottage is in a beautiful location. The bed is very comfortable, though access to the bedrooms is via a steep and winding staircase.

A nice cottage right by the village church. Lovely to be able to sit out on the picnic bench and eat breakfast. Good location for exploring north Norfolk.

Not suitable for younger children due to steep stairs and inadequate indoor seating for eating. Pleasant location and well placed to visit North Norfolk.

compact cottage in a beautiful village location. Short travel times to a huge number of places to visits and days out that are family friendly. Lovely to have a welcome pack and information file on arrival.

Superb little cottage great location fairly well equipped not for the very tall though low door frames and tight staircase could cause problems. Had a very nice relaxed Xmas week

The most northerly county in the East of England, Norfolk is a land of beautiful contrasts. From the swooning reed beds and endless maze of waterways in the Norfolk Broads; the unspoilt stretches of fens and shingle spits where bird and wildlife thrive; a famous royal palace and the historic cathedral city of Norwich, this enticing area of England is just waiting to be discovered. Visit Sandringham Palace and see where the Queen lives or find out where lavender grows; you could journey to one of the largest seal haul outs in Europe at Blakeney Point or have a traditional day at the seaside at Cromer and Great Yarmouth. The cathedral gilded city of Norwich is a wonderful place to lose yourself either walking the ramparts of Norwich Castle or the RAF Air Defence Radar Museum. The city has an exceptional array of shops, cafes and restaurants to enjoy. Well connected to the national rail and road network, Norfolk is easily accessible from London, the M25 and from major city terminals.

Norfolk is characterised by its horizons and big skies, straight highways and rural trappings. Also, when it comes to attractions, visitors to the county will be spoilt for choice. If you love animals and birds, head to RSPB Titchwell Marsh, or the Cley-Next-The-Sea. With such a long coastline Norfolk boasts some magnificent stretches of beach – favourites include Cromer, Old Hunstanton, Wells-Next-The Sea, the dunes of Winterton-on-Sea, and Brancaster (a favourite for dog owners).

There are so many places to visit and activities to get involved in on a Norfolk holiday. We have some lovely properties including country cottages, farm conversions, large family houses, apartments and surburban home from homes in our collection. Why not find your perfect holiday home today?
