A long drive winds its way across meadowland fringed with willow trees and silver birch copses before crossing the bridge to reach this charming 16th century cottage which was once a cattle shed. Situated in the village of Stiffkey, this cottage is ideally suited for a family wanting to explore the Norfolk coast. A warm welcome awaits inside its cosy lounge with a crackling open fire and views over the attractive garden. On a sunny day, the south-facing patio makes a wonderful spot to enjoy a good book and when it’s time to retire to bed, there is an en-suite double bedroom on the ground floor, plus a twin room with a separate bathroom on the first floor.

Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the North Norfolk coastal village of Stiffkey has one of the richest salt marshes for wildlife in the country. Follow the “secret” footpath from the village down to the coast and have great fun collecting its famed cockles, along with Stiffkey Samphire, a delicacy in Michelin Stared restaurants. When you fancy a night off cooking, The Red Lion offers a delectable menu featuring Morston Mussels and Cromer Crabs.

The sandy beaches at Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea are just 4 miles along the coast or take a scenic boat trip from Blakeney (5 miles), or Morston (3.5 miles) to Blakeney Point to see the colony of grey seals. A perfect cottage. Warm and comfortable on the inside and pretty as a picture on the outside. Private parking away from the road left plenty of space for our car and a safe place for kids to play. Walking distance to a first class pub and local store/ cafe and a short drive to shops and fish and chips! Most relaxing break we've had in years.

This lovely cottage is in a super location in a great village. Easy walk to the saltmarshes and Norfolk Coast Path. We had a great relaxing time with good weather apart from one day. Aim to return in 2024.

This cottage looks like a proper Norfolk cottage and is lovely and private. If you like walking and nature watching it is in an ideal place. Very little driving required when going out. Plenty of parking and outdoor seating. We have stayed here more than once, which says it all really.
