Ideally situated close to the heart of the bustling Georgian market town of Holt, this comfy and welcoming holiday cottage makes an ideal base for exploring Norfolk’s beautiful coast and countryside.

Ruby Cottage is a newly built semi-detached house situated in a quiet cul-de-sac just out of the centre of Holt. The house is constructed in a traditional brick and flint style and has stylish new furnishings and fittings having been refurbished by the new owners. There is a light-filled sitting room at the rear of the house leading out onto a fully-enclosed patio garden, just the spot for an al fresco lunch.

The property is perfectly located just half a mile from the historic Georgian market town of Holt which has a great selection of unusual shops and parks. There are many art galleries, antique and book shops to browse in and the charming courtyards make this a delightful way to spend an afternoon. Or pop to the beach at Salthouse, just 4 miles away for a day beside the sea.

You are spoilt for choice with the wonderful beaches on offer all along the Norfolk coast. The popular resort of Cromer is a 10-mile drive away to the east and the Scolt Head Island National Nature Reserve is 20 miles to the west. The charming seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea is 12 miles away with its steam train that you can catch to Walsingham, and The Thursford Collection is just 8 miles from the property.

Good location for the town with nearby walks for dogs. Ideal base for NT, EH & coast. Nice light, clean cottage, fairly well equipped. Off road parking for 2 cars. Two good "grub pubs", plus cafes and restaurants. Large supermarket. Steam railway/Broads cruise package worth doing.

A lovely spacious cottage style house in a perfect location one minute from Holt town centre. Ruby Cottage is in a quiet cul-de-sac so very quiet at night. We loved it so much we didnt want to leave!

Cottage in brilliant location, had everything we needed. The addition of local maps was an added bonus. It could do with updating and a really good clean, but we really enjoyed our stay.

It was our 2nd visit to Ruby Cottage and it was just as enjoyable as the 1st. We were sorry to leave and hope to visit again very soon. It is a lovely cottage in a very good location.

Ruby Cottage was very clean, very well equipped, the beds were very comfortable! My only complaint would be that the sofas were too low for me! But all in all 10 out of 10!

This is our 7th visit to Ruby Cottage and has been enjoyable as ever. We look forward to our next visit at the end of October.

Ruby Cottage was really well equipped. In a quiet location and very comfortable. I would recommend Holt as a location and also Ruby Cottage. I have already visited the website looking for accommodation in Cley, as that was my favourite place after Holt.

Location

Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

The most northerly county in the East of England, Norfolk is a land of beautiful contrasts. From the swooning reed beds and endless maze of waterways in the Norfolk Broads; the unspoilt stretches of fens and shingle spits where bird and wildlife thrive; a famous royal palace and the historic cathedral city of Norwich, this enticing area of England is just waiting to be discovered. Visit Sandringham Palace and see where the Queen lives or find out where lavender grows; you could journey to one of the largest seal haul outs in Europe at Blakeney Point or have a traditional day at the seaside at Cromer and Great Yarmouth. The cathedral gilded city of Norwich is a wonderful place to lose yourself either walking the ramparts of Norwich Castle or the RAF Air Defence Radar Museum. The city has an exceptional array of shops, cafes and restaurants to enjoy. Well connected to the national rail and road network, Norfolk is easily accessible from London, the M25 and from major city terminals.

Norfolk is characterised by its horizons and big skies, straight highways and rural trappings. Also, when it comes to attractions, visitors to the county will be spoilt for choice. If you love animals and birds, head to RSPB Titchwell Marsh, or the Cley-Next-The-Sea. With such a long coastline Norfolk boasts some magnificent stretches of beach – favourites include Cromer, Old Hunstanton, Wells-Next-The Sea, the dunes of Winterton-on-Sea, and Brancaster (a favourite for dog owners).

There are so many places to visit and activities to get involved in on a Norfolk holiday. We have some lovely properties including country cottages, farm conversions, large family houses, apartments and surburban home from homes in our collection. Why not find your perfect holiday home today?
