Escape the humdrum of everyday life in this beautiful cottage in the peaceful village of East Ruston. The property sleeps four guests and makes a lovely couples’ retreat or base for a small family. The cottage has a sociable, open-plan layout and a sunny patio overlooking a lake. It’s within easy reach of The Broads, with Stalham just 2 miles away and Wroxham just under 10 miles from the property. You can also enjoy trips to the seaside, with the golden sands of Sea Palling a mere 7 miles from the cottage.

This home-from-home is bright and airy with pretty soft furnishings and homely touches throughout. It has an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with a large wooden table for enjoying family mealtimes together, and comfortable sofas arranged around a Smart TV. In summer, open the patio doors to let a gentle breeze flow through the cottage. Upstairs, you’ll find two inviting bedrooms – a king-size and a twin – along with the family bathroom. Outside, discover a south-facing patio, where you can sip a sundowner whilst admiring the local wildlife.

East Ruston is home to a stunning vicarage garden; with themed garden rooms and an array of exotic plants, this little slice of tranquillity is a must for horticulture enthusiasts or anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle for a couple of hours. The Weavers’ Way walking trail passes through the village, and you can follow it along a disused railway track for 2 miles to Stalham. The town is on the northern edge of The Broads, and is a hive of activity, with eateries, boatyards and a plethora of waterside tracks and trails to explore.

Skipper was a perfect place for a short break, lovely views from the back garden and a very peaceful location. The house was well equipped and felt like a home away from home.

We had a lovely late November break The cottage was warm, welcoming and well equipped. Appreciated the Christmas touches which added to the welcoming feel. It was great to have the view of the lake as we relaxed over breakfast.

A very comfortable cottage in a good location for lots of beautiful Norfolk beaches within a 20 minute drive. The sun facing patio was nice to sit out on too. Good parking outside the door and a couple of walks from nearby. Take 1 coins for the laundry room if you intend to use it.

A lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Unfortunately it wasnt clean, too many cobwebs & layers of dust as well us dirty equipment. If these issues could be addressed we would have given a more positive review.

A lovely comfortable cottage, in a charming rural environment, overlooking a pretty pond from the patio and conveniently located for nice walks and cycling with extensive beaches within easy driving distance. Plenty of private car parking space at the front of the property.

Very good value cottage in excellent location. Compact but this was clearly evident in the pictures. Minor issues with cleaning and heating were quickly resolved by contacting the housekeeper and the owner respectively - both very responsive. Lovely patio with view of pond. Kitchen well equipped and good to have full size freezer and efficient ovenRead more and hob. Layout of furniture in lounge diner could be better but it is clear in the photos. Parking very easy for 2 cars right by house. Hide

Lovely cottage in great location. Peaceful. Bit hot in bedrooms but that is typical of this style and period of building. Owners very helpful.
