Easter is a brilliant time to enjoy a family holiday in Norfolk. With the warmer weather, lighter days, beautiful countryside and unspoilt beaches, it offers the perfect opportunity to spend quality time together in the spring sunshine. Stately homes, gardens and attractions are scattered with Easter eggs ready for little ones to find, the farm parks are full of fluffy baby animals and there is a wealth of spring festivals to visit.
We’ve picked some of the best Easter family events in Norfolk to share with you – there is even one for dogs too!

Hop along to Cedric's Chocolate Bunny Burrow at Bewilderwood in Hoveton throughout the Easter holidays. Bounce your way through the Tricky Tunnels, bundle into one of the tree houses and try to find all five Easter eggs in the woods before the Pesky Bunnies eat them! There will also be face painting, storytelling and bunny ear crafts.

Transform into a giant bee and hunt for pollen, don a blindfold and play ‘hug a tree’ and follow your nose for stinky skunk-cabbages at Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden. This Easter holiday scavenger hunt with a difference is great fun for all ages. Plus, on Good Friday (19th April), there will be a bookable Easter egg trail around the gardens – hunt for the colourful eggs that will lead you to a chocolatey eggy prize. Face painting and Easter crafts will also be available for children on this date.

As Pensthorpe Natural Park in Fakenham springs into life, pop your wellies on and see the 700-acre reserve’s cute and fluffy new residents emerge. During the school holidays, there will be an Easter egg treasure hunt around the reserve, plus the chance to create an Easter-inspired treat to take home. Each day they will also be hiding one very special golden egg in a top-secret location which, in order to find, you will need to work together as a family to hunt it out. Whoever finds the egg and brings it back to the shop will have the chance to win an eggs-clusive prize.

All aboard for Bure Valley Railway’s Easter Eggspress over the Easter school holiday. Departing from Aylsham and Wroxham stations, an egg-citing day is promised for all the family with a free Easter egg for each child who completes the Easter trail. There will also be fun colouring activities and the Whistlestop Café will be seasonally decorated. No pre-booking is required, just arrive 15 minutes before the train departure time.

Down at Wroxham Barns in Hoveton, there are fluffy newborn lambs who need help with their bottle-feed, and bouncing bunnies and yellow chicks waiting for a cuddle. On Junior Farm, your little ones can follow the Easter trail to win a prize and there will be lots of singing and dancing at Bella and Barny’s Eggstraordinary Show too. Plus, the family Funpark will be open daily where you can ride the Dizzy Caterpillars and Jumping Frogs, whoosh down the giant slides and challenge yourself to a round of 18-Hole Adventure Mini Golf.

Enjoy the colourful springtime grounds surrounding National Trust’s Blickling Hall and follow the Easter nature adventure trail. Discover secret tunnels, fascinating plants and count the moths and butterflies. There’s plenty of fun to be had and upon completion of the trail, each adventurer will receive an Easter Cadbury chocolate treat.

There is fun for all the family at Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure in Lenwade this Easter, as the characters from Alice in Wonderland join the dinosaur residents. Follow the woodland trail, have tea with the Mad Hatter, meet the real White Rabbit and escape from the Queen of Hearts. Kids will love taking part in Easter crafts and an egg hunt, plus they can join Dippy the Dinosaur for some disco dancing!

One of Norfolk’s most popular family Easter events, the Norfolk Spring Fling offers an action-packed line-up of activities and events. From lamb feeding to horse braiding and bird of prey shows to tractor and trailer rides, this is an exciting and educational day out for the whole family. Look forward to over 70 different experiences to take part in, as a well as a farmer’s market where you can sample local produce. And don’t miss the ever-popular dancing sheep in the Sheep Show. Tickets are only available online and must be purchased in advance.

Happy hounds can join in the fun this Easter with a dog-friendly Easter egg hunt at Centre Paws in Wymondham. Tails are sure to be wagging as your four-legged pals join one of the three egg hunts taking place throughout the day, sniffing out plastic eggs filled with delicious dog treats. There will also be games throughout the day to win special prizes like dog toys, treats and dog-friendly chocolate eggs. Why should humans have all the fun at Easter?

Do something exciting this Easter Sunday and treat the family to a day out at Amazona Zoo in Cromer. Home to more than 200 tropical animals including birds of prey, jaguars, monkeys and Tic-Tac the toucan, there are indoor and outdoor play areas and a lakeside cafe where squirrel monkeys and ring-tailed coatis perform acrobatics a few feet away. For something egg-stra special, every child who visits on Easter Sunday will receive a free Creme Egg.

For those looking for a full day of activities for the kids, Holkham Hall is a winner this Easter. In the hall, families can go on a bunny trail and get crafty creating a magic feather wand to take home. Then hop aboard the Easter Express for a free trailer ride over to the Walled Garden to the storyteller’s yurt and take part in a treasure hunt, Easter games and face painting. There’s also a hopping-mad mystery to solve where Rabbit has lost his hat and hopes you can help him find it. Also, on the 20th and 21st April, there will be an Easter Food Fair in The Lady Elizabeth Wing, celebrating local and regional artisan producers.
