Flowers and plants have a proven ability to be restful for the mind and soothing for the soul. Watching new blooms spring to life and breathing in their fresh floral scents can help ease stress and promote a feeling of calm and wellbeing, especially when they are part of a gorgeous garden in the great outdoors.
Springtime is when new shoots of life start to appear, so we think it's the perfect time to celebrate the vast range of plants, trees and flowers that are grown throughout the UK. Our floral map of the UK shows the different locations up and down the country where you can view some favourite flower varieties that hold National Plant Collections status.

About the National Plant Collection
National Plant Collections are run by Plant Heritage to celebrate the very best varieties of different species of plants that are grown and cultivated throughout the UK while ensuring these wonderful blooms are preserved and protected for generations to come. All collections can be viewed by the public, from carpets of springtime snowdrops in Fife to fields of fragrant summer lavender in Norfolk.
Get out and smell the roses (or the lavender)...
Kett Country Cottages is the booking agent for a handpicked collection of Norfolk holiday cottages and the team were inspired to create this floral map of the UK by the gloriously fragrant lavender fields around Heacham on the Norfolk coast. We hope it's inspired you to get out and about in the great outdoors and discover the beautiful range of flowers that can be found around the UK, from pastel pink peonies to vibrant red roses.
