Set on the edge of a picturesque market town, this traditional 18th century Grade II listed cottage has been sensitively renovated to provide delightful holiday accommodation for up to four guests.

A far cry from its original incarnation as Holt Workhouse, this Grade II listed cottage is now a wonderfully comfortable holiday home, suitable for a couple or small family of three to enjoy a restful break away. To the front of the cottage a lawned garden and patio seating area provide guests with an attractive outside space to enjoy al fresco drinks, whilst inside the accommodation is set across one floor and has been thoughtfully finished with a well-equipped kitchen, cosy bedrooms, and underfloor heating.

An attractive Georgian town, it is easy to see why locals and visitors alike come here to enjoy a leisurely day of wandering the independent shops and lunching in one of the numerous pubs, cafes, and restaurants which lie nestled in the town’s attractive squares. All of this can be reached within a pleasant 0.5 mile walk from this property, making it ideal for those who want to be within easy reach of the town’s amenities, whilst enjoying a quiet residential location.

The town of Holt lies just 4.5 miles from the beautiful North Norfolk coast which can be reached either by car or alternatively by steam train on the railway line running between Holt and the seaside resort of Sheringham, 6.5 miles away. Once a fishing village, Sheringham is now a popular spot for holidaymakers to visit with a seafront promenade and a shingle beach which gives way to wide stretches of sand at low tide.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 double, 1 single with trundle bed
  • 1 bathroom with bath, walk-in shower and WC
  • Oven, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer

Blackbird Cottage was absolutely perfect for our needs including the parking space for our mini!! The added bonus being it was in easy walking distance oh Holt town centre - helpful at night as we like to have an evening meal and drink at The Feathers Hotel. Can also get a very good coffee at The Black Apollo coffee house. We found Blackbird CottagRead moree to be both comfortable and and cosy and extremely well equipped. A very attractive nicely decorated and furnished cottage in a way that suits the converted original building. Some lovely fresh flowers greeted us. Cosy rugs available for chillier days but underfloor heating kept the temperature comfortable throughout. The garden is very nice and the car standing there was fine for our daughters car.

The most northerly county in the East of England, Norfolk is a land of beautiful contrasts. From the swooning reed beds and endless maze of waterways in the Norfolk Broads; the unspoilt stretches of fens and shingle spits where bird and wildlife thrive; a famous royal palace and the historic cathedral city of Norwich, this enticing area of England is just waiting to be discovered. Visit Sandringham Palace and see where the Queen lives or find out where lavender grows; you could journey to one of the largest seal haul outs in Europe at Blakeney Point or have a traditional day at the seaside at Cromer and Great Yarmouth. The cathedral gilded city of Norwich is a wonderful place to lose yourself either walking the ramparts of Norwich Castle or the RAF Air Defence Radar Museum. The city has an exceptional array of shops, cafes and restaurants to enjoy. Well connected to the national rail and road network, Norfolk is easily accessible from London, the M25 and from major city terminals.

Norfolk is characterised by its horizons and big skies, straight highways and rural trappings. Also, when it comes to attractions, visitors to the county will be spoilt for choice. If you love animals and birds, head to RSPB Titchwell Marsh, or the Cley-Next-The-Sea. With such a long coastline Norfolk boasts some magnificent stretches of beach – favourites include Cromer, Old Hunstanton, Wells-Next-The Sea, the dunes of Winterton-on-Sea, and Brancaster (a favourite for dog owners).

There are so many places to visit and activities to get involved in on a Norfolk holiday. We have some lovely properties including country cottages, farm conversions, large family houses, apartments and surburban home from homes in our collection. Why not find your perfect holiday home today?
