Soak up the Norfolk sunshine outside this exquisite former railway carriage in North Norfolk. Stroll out on long walks through the Norfolk countryside or plan trips to the coast, 11.5 miles away. Visit the Norfolk Broads, where you can hire a boat in Wroxham, 10 miles away, or have a day out in the historic city of Norwich, 12.5 miles from the retreat.

Arrive at this character-filled abode, with its handcrafted interior and take two steps up into its welcoming, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner/bedroom. Put the kettle on for a cup of tea, prepare dinner then choose whether to eat inside or out. Spend your evenings looking up at the stars, barbecuing in the shared hut where there is a fire pit, or just reading quietly and relishing the peace. As night falls, head over to the comfortable double bed. Awake to a hot shower before making coffee and planning the next adventure. Savour the privacy of your own courtyard, where you can spot wildlife in the pond and birds in the trees. The railway carriage comes with parking for one car.

Make your way into Aylsham to catch a nostalgic, narrow-gauge steam train into Wroxham, passing through splendid countryside on the way. Head up to the North Norfolk coast to Cromer (11.5 miles) or Sheringham (15.5 miles). Visit magnificent Sheringham Park, laid out by renowned landscape designer Humphry Repton. Have an afternoon out in Blakeney, 19 miles away, where you can take a boat trip out to see the colonies of grey seals, stroll along the coast path and buy fresh seafood to grill on the BBQ when you return.

Once you get used to finding the location it's very easy to get to many places to visit nearby. Aylsham lovely village, Cromer, Great Yarmouth and lots of stunning beaches on your doorstep. We swam at Bacton. Very quiet and water was lovely. National Trust local also. Pubs,Shops and supermarket a plenty within easy reach.

Well executed quirky and stylish accommodation in a very peaceful spot. Do be aware it's quiet because it's remote so no shops or pubs within walking distance and no WiFi. We enjoyed our 4 night stay.

The holiday was just what I wanted, peaceful and quiet. The carriage was really great just as the photos show. The countryside around was really lovely and only a few miles from the beach. I would recommend to anyone, perfect for a single or a couple. Another time I would like to stay in the first. Thanks Jo I enjoyed my stay so much
